It was with sadness that we recently reported on the cancellation of what was to be this year’s largest hacker camp, MCH2021. This was to have been the ninth in a long progression of four-yearly events in the Netherlands for the technology and open-source communities, and its loss due to the pandemic left a huge hole in our collective summers.
We’re happy then to note that in a blog post on their website, the MCH2021 team have announced that the event will instead go ahead next year. MCH2022 will make next summer a crowded one alongside the year’s other main hacker event in the UK, but it’s important because it will preserve the continuity of these events in the Netherlands and thus the built-up knowledge and experience of what goes into running them.
